Judgment
According to Works
•
Judgment According to deeds.
Job 34:11 For
the work of a man shall he render
unto him, and cause every man to
find according to his ways.
(KJV) God
judges people for what they do
and say, be it good or bad.
Psalm
62:12 Also unto thee,
O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou
renderest to every man according
to his work. (KJV) Wealth,
honor, power or fame add nothing
to our value in God’s eyes.
Only the faithful work we do for
Him has eternal value.
Proverbs
24:12 If thou sayest,
Behold, we knew it not; doth not
he that pondereth the heart consider
it? and he that keepeth thy soul,
doth not he know it? and shall not
he render to every man according
to his works? (KJV) You
may think what you do in your life
is your business, and no one else’s,
but God knows and shall judge your
motives. He will reward you on Judgment
Day according to what you do.
Isaiah
59:18 According to
their deeds, accordingly he will
repay, fury to his adversaries,
recompence to his enemies; to the
islands he will repay recompence. (KJV) God
shall punish ALL His enemies according
to what they have done, ALL people
in ALL lands. God’s enemies
are those without Christ (Rom.5:1-10).
Jeremiah
17:10 I the Lord search
the heart, I try the reins, even
to give every man according to his
ways, and according to the fruit
of his doings. (KJV) God
makes it clear why we sin . . .
sin starts in the heart. Our hearts
have been bent to sin from the time
we were born (Ps.58:3). It is easy
to go our own way and forget God.
We have a free will, we can choose
whether or not to continue in sin.
We can yield to temptation, or we
can ask God to help us resist temptation
when it comes.
Ezekiel
7:3 Now is the end
come upon thee, and I will send
mine anger upon thee, and will judge
thee according to thy ways, and
will recompense upon thee all thine
abominations. (KJV) Israel has done much wrong in God’s
eyes. She shall be judged, individually
and nationally! BUT,
what about us??? We must NOT
judge Israel or anyone else. It
is God who shall judge ALL people
according to their sins. ALL people
shall feel God’s anger on
Judgment Day, because He shall judge
people for what they have done.
He will pay people back for all
their disgusting conduct.
Ezekiel
7:27 The king shall
mourn, and the prince shall be clothed
with desolation, and the hands of
the people of the land shall be
troubled: I will do unto them after
their way, and according to their
deserts will I judge them; and they
shall know that I am the Lord. (KJV) The
rulers of the Earth will stand helpless,
weeping in despair, and the people
will tremble with fear. God will
bring against them ALL the evil
they have done to others, and they
will receive the punishment they
so richly deserve. At that time,
they will know that He is the Lord!
Ezekiel
16:59 For thus saith
the Lord God; I will even deal with
thee as thou hast done, which hast
despised the oath in breaking the
covenant. (KJV)
Ezekiel
39:24 According to
their uncleanness and according
to their transgressions have I done
unto them, and hid my face from
them. (KJV) God
turns His Face away from sin, and
shall punish people in extent to
the sordidness of their sins.
Matthew
5:22 But I
say unto you, That whosoever is
angry with his brother without a
cause shall be in danger of the
judgment: and whosoever shall say
to his brother, Raca, shall be in
danger of the council: but whosoever
shall say, Thou fool, shall be in
danger of hell fire. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. People
are free to do whatever they desire,
but they are NOT free from God.
Sin can deeply affect our personalities,
which respond in anguish when we
harm ourselves physically and spiritually.
Matthew
16:27 For the
Son of man shall come in the glory
of his Father with his angels; and
then he shall reward every man according
to his works. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. Jesus
Christ has been given authority
to judge all the Earth (Rom.14:9-11;
Phil. 2:9-11). There is
a future, final judgment when Christ
returns (Mat.25:31-46) and everyone’s life
is reviewed and evaluated. ALL people
shall face a judgment. Born
again believers eternal
destiny has already been decided
(Heaven), but Jesus will look at how we handled gifts, opportunities, and responsibilities, in order to determine our heavenly rewards OR loss of what we could have had. Unbelievers'
eternal destiny also has been predetermined
(Hell), and they shall be judged
on every sin they ever committed.
On Judgment Day, God
will deliver the righteous and condemn the wicked. We
should never judge others’
salvation; that is God’s work.
Matthew 23:14 Woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye devour widows'
houses, and for a pretence make
long prayer: therefore ye shall
receive the greater damnation. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. It
is no new thing for religious leaders
to show a form of godliness just
to mask their great atrocities.
But the counterfeit, hypocritical
piety of leaders who know better
shall be judged with much harsher
sentences. I truly believe that
there are various degrees of judgment,
for both believers and unbelievers,
depending on the circumstance. Just like in Jesus’ time on
Earth, religious leaders thought
only of how much they could benefit
financially, so too it is today.
Tele-evangelists who hoodwink people
with their gift of gab, get richer
and richer, not caring about the
people they cheat. What they do
is NOT for the glory of God, but
instead the good of themselves.
Gain being their god, never fearing
the Almighty who shall one day judge
them. So sad, but this verse is
omitted in several of the newer
versions of the Bible.
Luke
12:47-48 And
that servant, which knew his lord's
will, and prepared not himself,
neither did according to his will,
shall be beaten with many stripes.
[48] But he that knew not, and did
commit things worthy of stripes,
shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required: and
to whom men have committed much,
of him they will ask the more. (KJV) Jesus' Words. Believers who know what the Lord expects of them, but does not do it, will be punished with a greater severity. But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given. Degrees of future punishment is judged on the knowledge a person has. But, even heathens know there shall be a future judgment, and know when they are doing wrong.
WORKS
• relationship between faith
and works.
Luke 3:8-9 Bring
forth therefore fruits worthy of
repentance, and begin not to say
within yourselves, We have Abraham
to our father: for I say unto you,
That God is able of these stones
to raise up children unto Abraham.
[9] And now also the axe is laid
unto the root of the trees: every
tree therefore which bringeth not
forth good fruit is hewn down, and
cast into the fire. (KJV) Jesus' Words. Confession
of sins and a changed life cannot
be separated in the life of faith; for faith
without deeds is dead (James 2:14-26).
Jesus’ most severe words were
to the respectable religious leaders
who lacked the desire for real change.
They wanted to be known as religious
authorities, but they did not
want to change their hearts and
minds. So their lives were unproductive.
Repentance must be tied to action,
or it is not real. Following
Jesus means more than saying the
right words; it means acting on
what He says. Trust and
obey! There is NO other way!
More
verses about Judgment according
to works.
Job
34:11 For the work
of a man shall he render unto him,
and cause every man to find according
to his ways. (KJV) God
judges people according to their
deeds. He treats people according
to what they do.
Psalm
62:12 Also unto thee,
O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou
renderest to every man according
to his work. (KJV) God judges all people according
to what they have done.
Proverbs
24:12 If thou sayest,
Behold, we knew it not; doth not
he that pondereth the heart consider
it? and he that keepeth thy soul,
doth not he know it? and shall not
he render to every man according
to his works? (KJV) At
Judgment Day, people may try to
avoid responsibility by saying they
didn't know. But, God knows ALL
hearts, and He sees you, knows your
heart. He knows that you knew! He
will judge all people according
to what they have done.
Isaiah
3:10-11 Say ye to the
righteous, that it shall be well
with him: for they shall eat the
fruit of their doings. [11] Woe
unto the wicked! it shall be ill
with him: for the reward of his
hands shall be given him. (KJV) Eventually
the righteous will receive God’s
reward and the wicked will receive
their punishment. It is disheartening
to see the evil people prosper today
while good, honest people struggle
to obey God. Yet we must keep holding
on to God’s Truth and take
heart! God will bring about justice
in the end, and He will reward those
who have been faithful to Him.
Isaiah
5:15-16 And the mean
man shall be brought down, and the
mighty man shall be humbled, and
the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
[16] But the Lord of hosts shall
be exalted in judgment, and God
that is holy shall be sanctified
in righteousness. (KJV) All
mean and evil people will be disgraced,
and all who are proud and arrogant
will be humbled in Judgment Day.
But the Almighty Lord shall show
His greatness by doing what is right.
God shall reveal His holiness by
judging His people fairly.
Isaiah
59:18 According to
their deeds, accordingly he will
repay, fury to his adversaries,
recompence to his enemies; to the
islands he will repay recompence. (KJV) God
shall punish His enemies according
to what they have done, no matter
where on this Earth they live!
Jeremiah
17:10 I the Lord search
the heart, I try the reins, even
to give every man according to his
ways, and according to the fruit
of his doings. (KJV) The
Lord searches the minds and test
the hearts of people, for ALL sin
starts in the heart. He shall judge
each person according to the way
they live, and according to what
they do.
Jeremiah
32:19 Great in counsel,
and mighty in work: for thine eyes
are open upon all the ways of the
sons of men: to give every one according
to his ways, and according to the
fruit of his doings: (KJV) God loves
us and sees our situation. Whenever
we doubt God’s wisdom or wonder
if it is practical to obey Him,
we can just look back on what we
already know about Him. Such thoughts
and prayers will quiet our doubts
and calm our fears. God is good!
He will always do right. And on
Judgment Day, ALL people shall be
judged according to their ways and
works.
Ezekiel
7:3-4 Now is the end
come upon thee, and I will send
mine anger upon thee, and will judge
thee according to thy ways, and
will recompense upon thee all thine
abominations. [4] And mine eye shall
not spare thee, neither will I have
pity: but I will recompense thy
ways upon thee, and thine abominations
shall be in the midst of thee: and
ye shall know that I am the Lord. (KJV) Just
as God has judged Israel in the
past and will again in the future,
He shall judge ALL people according
to their ways. On Judgment Day He
shall not spare anyone who has disobeyed
Him and done wicked and abominable
things in His eyes. The day of grace
and mercy will be past! People will
finally KNOW that He is the Lord!
Matthew
12:37 For by
thy words thou shalt be justified,
and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. The
way a person talks tells from what
country they are, and so also, what
kind of a person they are. The heart
is like a fountain, and our words
are the stream. A troubled fountain,
and a corrupt spring, always sends
forth muddy and repulsive water.
Only when we cast the grace of God
into the spring (heart), can the
waters be healed. Only when God’s
grace is applied can our speech
be purified of corrupt communication.
Evil people have evil in their hearts,
and out of it can come only evil
things. Lusts and corruptions dwell
and reign in an evil heart, out
of which the sinner brings forth
bad words and actions, always to
the dishonor of God, and always
to the hurt of others. Let
us speak words agreeable to the
Christian character and deeds to
honor and glorify God, for that
is how we shall be judged.
Matthew
23:14 Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
for ye devour widows' houses, and
for a pretence make long prayer:
therefore ye shall receive the greater
damnation. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. Israel’s
history, culture, and daily life
centered around its relationship
with God. The religious leaders
were well known, extremely powerful,
and respected above all other leaders.
Jesus made severe accusations because
the leaders had lost sight of God
and what He expected of them. They
hungered for power, money, and status. Look around you today. Some
preachers and tele-evangelists today
are money hungry wolves in sheep’s
clothing. They certainly shall face
a greater damnation.
Luke
12:47-48 And
that servant, which knew his lord's
will, and prepared not himself,
neither did according to his will,
shall be beaten with many stripes.
[48] But he that knew not, and did
commit things worthy of stripes,
shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required: and
to whom men have committed much,
of him they will ask the more. (KJV) Jesus' Words. NO one is
so ignorant as to not know right
from wrong; and too, the many things
that are right which he/she neglects
to do. Because of this, people CANNOT
excuse their sin. People who know
what God wants them to do, but do
not do it, will be punished severely
(greater damnation) as
stated above. But people who do
not know what God wants, and yet
does something for which he deserves
correction, will be punished with
a lighter judgment. The more knowledge
a person has, the greater his/her
responsibility.
Luke
13:6-9 He spake also
this parable; A certain
man had a fig tree planted in his
vineyard; and he came and sought
fruit thereon, and found none. [7]
Then said he unto the dresser of
his vineyard, Behold, these three
years I come seeking fruit on this
fig tree, and find none: cut it
down; why cumbereth it the ground?
[8] And he answering said unto him,
Lord, let it alone this year also,
till I shall dig about it, and dung
it: [9] And if it bear fruit, well:
and if not, then after that thou
shalt cut it down. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. In
the Old Testament, a fruitful tree
was often a symbol of godly living
(Ps.1:3; Jer.17:7-8). Jesus states
what will happen to a barren tree.
Jesus warns that God would not tolerate
forever Israel’s lack of productivity
(nor ours). In Luke 3:9, John the
Baptist brings the same message.
Do you enjoy God’s blessings,
yet give nothing in return? You
do NOT want to be cut down and cast
into the fire (Luke 3:9).
John
12:48 He that
rejecteth me, and receiveth not
my words, hath one that judgeth
him: the word that I have spoken,
the same shall judge him in the
last day. (KJV) Jesus'
Words. When
Jesus came the first time, His mission
was to show them the way to find
salvation and eternal life. When
He comes again, one of His main
purposes will be to judge people
for how they lived on Earth. Christ’s
Words that are rejected by the majority
of people, will condemn those same
people. On Judgment Day, those who
accepted Jesus and lived His way
will be raised to eternal life (1
Cor. 15:51-57; 1 Thes. 4:15-18;
Rev. 21:1-8), but those who rejected
Jesus and lived any way they pleased
will face eternal punishment (Rev.
20:11-15). Where do you
stand in regards to Jesus? I cannot
stress firmly enough that this is
the most important decision you
will ever make in your life here
on Earth. Decide now which side
you’ll be on, for the consequences
of your decision last forever.
1
Cor. 3:12-15 Now if
any man build upon this foundation
gold, silver, precious stones, wood,
hay, stubble; [13] Every man's work
shall be made manifest: for the
day shall declare it, because it
shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man's work
of what sort it is. [14] If any
man's work abide which he hath built
thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
[15] If any man's work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but
he himself shall be saved; yet so
as by fire. (KJV) There
is going to come a time of testing
at the judgment day to see what
kind of work each builder has done.
Everyone's work will be put through
the fire to see whether or not it
keeps its value. If the work survives
the fire (anything built on Christ),
that builder will receive a reward.
But any work done for self shall
be burned up, and the builder will
suffer great loss. The builder himself
will be saved, but will be saved
by the skin of their teeth.
Galatians
6:5-10 For every man
shall bear his own burden. [6] Let
him that is taught in the word communicate
unto him that teacheth in all good
things. [7] Be not deceived; God
is not mocked: for whatsoever a
man soweth, that shall he also reap.
[8] For he that soweth to his flesh
shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit
shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
[9] And let us not be weary in well
doing: for in due season we shall
reap, if we faint not. [10] As we
have therefore opportunity, let
us do good unto all men, especially
unto them who are of the household
of faith. (KJV) Each
of us is responsible for our own
conduct. You cannot ignore God and
get away with it. You will always
reap what you sow! IF you live only
to satisfy your own sinful desires,
you shall harvest the result of
your sins on Judgment Day. But IF
you live to please God, you shall
harvest everlasting life. Quite
a difference! What is your choice???
1
Peter 1:17 And if ye
call on the Father, who without
respect of persons judgeth according
to every man's work, pass the time
of your sojourning here in fear: (KJV) Reverent
fear is the healthy respect of a
believer for the all-powerful God.
Because God is the Judge of all
the Earth, we dare not ignore Him
or treat Him in a casual way. Our
privileged status as God’s
children does NOT give us freedom
to do whatever we want. We should
not be like spoiled children, but
grateful children who love to show
respect for our heavenly Father.
Our attitude toward God shall be
judged.

Please
consider ETERNITY!
Your soul
is ETERNAL, no matter what you may
think! Fact is fact, whether you
believe it or not. God wants NO
one to be condemned to Hell. But, the decision rests in your
hands, and yours alone. Do you want all your sins
forgiven now, and be assured of
Heaven? Or do you want judged for
your every sin you ever committed
and be assigned to an everlasting
Hell?
John
3:15-18 That
whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have eternal life.
[16] For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting
life. [17] For God sent not his
Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through
him might be saved. [18] He that
believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten
Son of God. (KJV) Jesus' Words.
John 3:36 He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
life: and he that believeth not
the Son shall not see life; but
the wrath of God abideth on him.
(KJV)
Do NOT
call God a “liar”! (1 John 5:10-12).
