WHAT Does GOD Have To Say?
Anxiety, Worry, Chapter 3

Being uneasy, anxious, apprehensive, troubled, distressful; especially over matters of which we have no control.

Psalm 120:1 In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.
When King David cried unto the Lord, God heard him, because he knew and believed God!
If we know Jesus as Saviour and Lord, we too belong to God; and if we call upon God to help us, God in His infinite grace will help us also!

Isaiah 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
One of the main reasons the poor suffer is that the rich oppress them. God has always cared for the poor and down-trodden; He has always helped them. Any time we are disadvantaged or oppressed, we (His children) can go to God in prayer, and He graciously grants us comfort.

Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
The vast majority of people today are letting the ‘cares of this world’ (worries, anxieties), and the world’s attractions that we lust after (what money can buy), come in and crowd out God’s Word.

Romans 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Nothing should ever separate us from Christ and His wondrous love!

Psalm 119:143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.
Any time we have trouble, distress, anguish, worry, etc. His Word is there for us!

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Jesus states here we are not to worry about needs God has promised to fulfill (Phil.4:19).
Worry can actually make us sick. Worry can consume our thoughts. Worry can disrupt our productivity. Worry can make us treat those around us very shabbily. Worrycan reduce our trust and faith in God.Worry is not good for you. God says “Don’t worry, trust Me!”

Luke 10:38-42Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Jesus did not blame nor condemn Martha for being concerned about her cooking chores. I think He was asking her to set her priorities straight. Sometimes we get too busyto ‘sit at Jesus’ feet’ and learn more about Him. Sometimes a simple bowl of soup or sandwich is better than a gourmet meal. We must never get too busy or to worried to learn more about Jesus.

Luke 12:22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Jesus commands His ‘disciples’ (hopefully you) not to worry.

Luke 12:27-30 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.     28If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
As rich as Solomon was, his clothes were not as beautiful as the flowers God creates. Jesus says we must not be “of little faith”. We must not worry, we must trust God to supply all our needs. He has promised to do that for His children, and He will do it!

Psalm 37:25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Who are the ‘righteous’? Those who know God. Those who believe and trust God. Those who
obey God and continue in fellowship with Him no matter what! God takes care of His own!

Philip. 4:6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
We should not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God  your needs and do NOT forget to thank Him for His answers and what He has already done for you! God tells us we are not to worry about things, but in our prayers ask God for what we need; and always ask Him with a humble, thankful heart. Remember: NEEDS and WANTS are quite different.

1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8  And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (KJV)
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV)
1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has promised: I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
