??? The Koran . . . Quran, being taught in American schools???

YES!!! Most Americans do NOT realize this is a nationwide issue and should be taken very seriously! “Assume you are a Muslim soldier…” A textbook "Across the Centuries" has been purchased by school districts all over the nation. Can a textbook which glorifies and emphasizes Islam to young impressionable minds be dangerous to our children? Again, YES!!!

Some think that Islam will be the number one religion in Southern California by the year 2015. The New York Times reports "Islam is said to be the nation's fastest-growing religion, fueled by immigration, high birth rates and widespread conversion. One expert estimates that 25,000 people a year become Muslims in this country; some clerics say they have seen conversion rates quadruple since Sept. 11.

Children today are being swayed toward Islam or atheism through these textbooks. These standards grossly betray the religious freedom of all Americans nationwide and must be stopped. These continuing practices must be seen as a matter of national security and liberal local government must be overstepped with regards to these flagrant abuses. Read more at:

Should a CHRISTIAN child should memorize the tenants of Islam, repeat the words, pray to Allah, build Mosques, imagine they are Muslim and write what they like about it! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

"Across the Centuries" and "Message of Ancient Days" text books claim the religion of Islam is truth. ISLAM beliefs are given as fact and Judeo-Christian beliefs are considered false. Public schools are INSISTING that our children learn this. WHERE ARE OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS???

American soil has already been claimed by Islam and our own schools are working to indoctrinate our children.

CHICAGO (AFP) — Police have stepped up patrols of an elementary school in Minnesota after it received threats in the wake of accusations that it was using public funds to teach Islam.

To be politically correct our children are being taught to be tolerant to everybody and everything, regardless of how bizarre it may seem to our American way of life. Public schools are having students learn passages form the Koran and study some of the laws handed down by Mohammed. Our children are taught that Islam is a religion of peace and Allah is just another name for the God of the Holy Bible.

BRENTWOOD, CA  (ANS) -- As children return to school this week, following the Christmas break, 7th graders in a growing number of public schools, who are not permitted to wear a cross or speak the name of Jesus, will be required to attend an intensive three week course on Islam; a course in which students are mandated to learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own Jihad.

In Byron, California, parents were outraged when students came home with their handouts and were told what was being taught. Their complaints to the school principal not only were ignored, but officials of this public school, funded by tax dollars, essentially fluffed them off.

The public schools in California so stealthily slipped this course into the 7th grade curriculum that even another 7th grade teacher, Elizabeth Christina Lemings, was totally in the dark that this was being taught until her son, Joseph, who is a 7th grader in the same school where she teaches, brought home the handouts.

"We could never teach Christianity like this," Lemings said to ANS during an on-site interview. "We can't even mention the name of Jesus in the public schools, but over there," she pointed to the building next to hers, "they teach Islam as the true religion, and students are taught about Islam and how to pray to Allah." A course about Islam taught at California public middle schools has come under fire after parents have learned that students wear Muslim robes, adopt Islamic names and stage make-believe pilgrimages to Mecca to learn about the faith. In one case, students in San Luis Obispo pretended to be warriors fighting for Islam, an activity that, critics argue, does not belong in a public-school classroom. "We could never teach Christianity like this," says one parent who did not want to be identified because her son is a student at one of the schools. R

Elizabeth Christina Lemings, a teacher in the Byron, Calif., Union School District, was unaware of the course until her seventh-grade son brought home the handouts. Obtained by ANS, the handouts include a history of Islam and the life of Mohammad, its founder. There are 25 Islamic terms that must be memorized, six Islamic (Arabic) phrases, 20 Islamic proverbs to learn along with the Five Pillars of Faith and 10 key Islamic prophets and disciples to be studied.

"We can't even mention the name of Jesus in the public schools," Lemings laments, "but ... they teach Islam as the true religion, and students are taught about Islam and how to pray to Allah. Can you imagine the barrage of lawsuits and problems we would have from the ACLU if Christianity were taught in the public schools, and if we tried to teach about the contributions of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Apostle Paul? CALIFORNIA'S WEARING BLINDERS WHILE SEVENTH-GRADERS ARE BEING INDOCTRINATED INTO ISLAM.

Have you put on your blinders today? We, yes all of us, have let unfair practices and new laws slip through the cracks in our cities and states. For instance, where was the outcry when abortion was proclaimed legal by the U.S. Supreme Court, where was the outcry when prayer was taken out of school and the Separation of Church and State was adopted by the Supreme Court, where was the outcry when crosses were removed from the hillsides because they were suddenly illegal? There are dozens of examples, and now I ask you, where is the outcry of parents concerning the teaching of Islam in California public schools?

Parents are wearing blinders while their young, impressionable children are being indoctrinated into the religion of Islam right under their noses. In the Byron, California, Union School District, however, principal Nancy Castro (Intermediate-Excelsior School of Byron) explains that the course is not religion, but ancient culture and history. Castro says the course reflects state standards and that the textbook, Across the Centuries, published by Houghton-Mifflin, has been adopted by the California school system. Unfortunately, when the same book references Christianity, it is in a negative context. The textbook glorifies Islam and omits all talk of past wars and massacres that have persecuted the Christians and Jews. As one student put it, "it [Islam] is a pretty culture." In our brave new schools, Johnny can't say the pledge, but he can recite the Quran. Yup, the same court that found the phrase "under God" unconstitutional now endorses Islamic catechism in public school.

In a recent federal decision that got surprisingly little press, even from conservative talk radio, California's 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled it's OK to put public-school kids through Muslim role-playing exercises, including:

Reciting aloud Muslim prayers that begin with "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful . . . ."

Memorizing the Muslim profession of faith: "Allah is the only true God and Muhammad is his messenger."

Chanting "Praise be to Allah" in response to teacher prompts.

Professing as "true" the Muslim belief that "The Holy Quran is God's word."

Giving up candy and TV to demonstrate Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.

Designing prayer rugs, taking an Arabic name and essentially "becoming a Muslim" for two full weeks.

Parents of seventh-graders, who after 9-11 were taught the pro-Islamic lessons as part of California's world history curriculum, sued under the First Amendment ban on religious establishment. They argued, reasonably, that the government was promoting Islam.

But a federal judge appointed by President Clinton told them in so many words to get over it, that the state was merely teaching kids about another "culture."
