Standing Before Him on Judgment Day

TRUE believers are to look for the coming of Jesus. This is the blessed hope (Tit.2:13) set before us. There is not enough preaching done on the subject of the Judgment. Many people think of Judgment Day as a general judgment, when all people, the saved and the lost ones stand before Almighty God. There is NO ‘general’ judgment mentioned anywhere in the Scriptures. Instead of one ‘general’ judgment, the Bible speaks of several judgments.

<><><>#1.  The Judgment of the believer's sins on the cross of CHRIST.  When Christ bore our sins in His own body on the cross, the result was death for Christ and justification for those who believe in what He did on the cross.. This ‘judgment’ frees believers from blame and being condemned to Hell. This ‘judgment’ passes believers from death unto life through Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (KJV)   http://www.godcannotlie.org/book_of_isaiah_ch.53.htm
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV)  http://www.godcannotlie.org/john_commentary_ch5.html
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)  http://www.godcannotlie.org/john_commentary_ch14.html
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (KJV) . . . . .   http://www.godcannotlie.org/book_of_romans_ch.3.htm
Romans 5:6-10 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (KJV)

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV) http://www.godcannotlie.org/2_cor_ch.5.html
Ephesians 1:7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (KJV)  http://www.godcannotlie.org/eph_ch1.htm
1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_tim_ch2.htm
1 Peter 2:24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_peter_ch.2.htm
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_peter_ch.3.htm

<><><>#2.  The judgment of self. Judging ‘self ‘ avoids chastisement. If we do not judge ourselves, then the result will be the chastening rod of God, but we are not to confuse the chastening rod with condemnation, because we are free from condemnation through Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (KJV)
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged . . . the word judge in the Bible means ALL parts of judgment: accusing, examining, condemning . . . and here it does mean accusing ourselves, condemning ourselves; examining ourselves . . . HOW do we do that? If we would stand back and really look at ourselves, examine ourselves thoroughly, and correct what is wrong BEFORE Judgment Day, we would not be judged by God in this way. This is talking about believers. We CAN judge ourselves when we are wrong and we are wise if we do..

Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. (KJV)
Psalm 51:3-4  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. (KJV)
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) . . . If we do NOT judge ourselves, then be assured that the Great Judge shall judge us on Judgment Day. . . . . . . . http://www.godcannotlie.org/first_john_ch1.htm

<><><>#3. The judgment seat of CHRIST. This Judgment is where the Almighty Judge Jesus, the Christ, will judge all TRUE believers. If you have accepted Christ as your Saviour and Lord (John 1:12-13; 3:15-18), you are God’s child and your destination has already been decided (Heaven). But, ALL believers will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ to decide if they receive rewards or loss of rewards they could have had, for the way they lived AFTER they were "born again." When a person is born again, all the sins they ever committed are forgiven. Every Christian will give account of him/herself to God. For the sins AFTER they are born again. It seems that this judgment will take place in the air, when we are caught up to be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(KJV)    http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_thes_ch4.htm
Romans 14:10-11 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/book_of_romans_ch.14.htm
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14  If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15  If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV)
http://www.godcannotlie.org/1_cor_ch3.htm
2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (KJV)  http://hisservants.org/judgment_seat_h_s.htm

<><><>#4.  The judgment of the nations.
The judgement of the nations is an event that will take place seven years after the Rapture of the saints (1 Thes.4:13-17), immediately following Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to the Earth (Zec.14:1-5; Rev.19:11-21).  As Jesus Christ sets up His Millennial Kingdom, His first order of business is to judge the nations and remove the unsaved from entering the 1000 year reign. This judgement is different from the great white throne judgment, which is the final judgment. There is no resurrection here; the persons judged are living nations; no books are opened; two classes are present, sheep and goats . . . the time is at the Return of Christ; and the scene takes place on the Earth. This judgment seems to take place when Christ shall sit upon the throne of His glory. Matthew 25:31-46  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38   When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39   Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (KJV)  http://www.godcannotlie.org/matthew_ch25.htm

<><><>#5.  The great white throne judgment.  This is the final judgment upon the Earth. It will take place after the 1000 year reign of Christ. The lost dead, small and great, are to be brought before God and the books will be opened.
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV) . . . . . . . . . http://www.godcannotlie.org/rev_ch20.htm
