"CHRISTIANS"
LEAVING GOD’S WORD
Jesus' Words are in yellow, bold, italics
2
Tim. 4:2-4 Preach
the word; be instant in season, out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the
time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own lusts
shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears; [4] And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and
shall be turned unto fables. (KJV) This implies that
sound doctrine will be considered as burdensome,
something that “Christians”
won’t endure. Biblical doctrine
will not be looked on as favorable. To
obey sound doctrine involves spiritual
discipline, serious diligence and making
choices based on God’s Word that
goes against the desires of the flesh.
What is sound doctrine? It is what is taught in the Holy Bible,
including His precepts, His commandments
. . . actually every word that is in His
Holy Book, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation
22:21.
Luke
4:4 And Jesus answered him,
saying, It is written, That man
shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word of God. (KJV) . . . Jesus' words. I don’t know about
you, but I can see that many “Christians”
today do NOT agree with this. And it will
get worse and worse with each passing
day. Most so-called “Christians”
will NOT endure “sound doctrine”
as the end looms closer and closer.
So, what will the
people endure? Apostasy! What is apostasy?
It is actually turning your back on God
and doing your own thing. It provides
the lusts of the flesh under the guise
of what these people call “godliness.”
Satan makes every attempt to undermine,
pervert, distort, corrupt, slander, belittle
and outright deny the Holy Scriptures
by any and all means that he can, and
he has millions of helpers. The end result
of his never ending deception is apostasy;
and it shall continue in leaps and bounds
until there will be an apostate religion
and church worldwide which its adherents
will worship and follow the Antichrist,
the man of lawlessness whom Satan shall
empower.
God continually told the Israelites that
IF they obeyed Him, they would be blessed;
but IF they walked in disobedience, they
would suffer devastating consequences
for their sin. They would be separated
from God, they would no longer have God’s
guidance and protection, and they would
experience God’s terrific wrath
as He corrected and disciplined them.
Israel’s repeated rebellion in the
wilderness proved - - - over and over
again, that God is true to His Word.
Deut.
32:46-47 And he said unto
them, Set your hearts unto all the words
which I testify among you this day, which
ye shall command your children to observe
to do, all the words of this law. [47]
For it is not a vain thing for you; because
it is your life: and through this thing
ye shall prolong your days in the land,
whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. (KJV) Moses
warned Israel.
1
Samuel 12:20-21 And Samuel
said unto the people, Fear not: ye have
done all this wickedness: yet turn not
aside from following the Lord, but serve
the Lord with all your heart; [21] And
turn ye not aside: for then should ye
go after vain things, which cannot profit
nor deliver; for they are vain. (KJV) Samuel warned
Israel three centuries later.
Not only is turning away from God “vanity,”
or complete worthlessness, the process
in doing so is absolute wickedness.
1
Samuel 15:23 For rebellion
is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness
is as iniquity and idolatry. (KJV) Samuel not only
tells us of the evil of rebelling against
God, he also gives us insight that helps
us recognize that Satan tries to induce
us to disobey God. This is widely common
today. Idolatry was the controlling issue
back then . . . but what about
today? The children of Israel
were commanded not to have false gods
in any form!
Exodus
20:3-4 Thou shalt have no
other gods before me. [4] Thou shalt not
make unto thee any graven image, or any
likeness of any thing that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth:
(KJV)
Exodus
20:23 Ye shall not make with
me gods of silver, neither shall ye make
unto you gods of gold. (KJV)
They
heartedly agreed. Exodus 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant,
and read in the audience of the people:
and they said, All that the Lord hath
said will we do, and be obedient.
(KJV) Yet just a
few days later, when Moses didn’t
come back from Mount Sinai in a prompt
manner, they rebelled and went against
the promise they had made to God. They
made a golden calf (Ex. 32:1-14). Aaron
built an altar, oversaw the ritual and
dedicated the feast “unto the Lord.”
So, IF all this was done “unto the
Lord” wasn’t it OK? Wouldn’t
their worship of a ‘physical’
thing as well as the ‘spiritual’
stimulation of the ritual be acceptable
to God?
We
really need to understand the Biblical
meaning of what idolatry is. The church
today is definitely following the Israelites
example. Most Christians would define
idolatry as anything that takes God’s
place in our lives. YES! That is absolutely
true. But there is more. WHY
is idolatry so critical??
Idols are “false gods”
(Ps.96:5). Idols are items of deception
and the creation of man and devils. Any
worship of them is a delusion. The reverence
given these gods consist of physical indulgence
and sensuality. The so-called gods are
physically represented and sensually worshipped.
Most evangelicals know this, but what
they don’t seem to understand is
how idolatry undermines their worship
of the true and living God!
God
chose to reveal Himself to us through
His Holy Word, NOT images that we make.
Worship of the TRUE God must be through
His Word, and according to His Word, or
it is idolatry. For us to please God,
we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth (John 4:23-24), NOT bowing down to man
made images. God is Spirit . . . we CANNOT
see Him! He is invisible (John 1:18).
The
Bible encourages faith that is founded
upon evidence, logic and reason. There
is no faith in images. What can
they do? Nothing! But there are millions
who worship images, completely abandoning
reason and chasing after idolatry. The
same thing happened to the Israelites
throughout their history. That is why
they were chastened by God over and over
again . . . for rebelling against the
only One who could help them, and turning
to stupid images who could do nothing
for them. A form of idolatry and divination
is called “praying through the icons”
(images) which is absolute rebellion against
Almighty God. The Bible tells us this
is witchcraft (1 Sam.15:23), above. Who
will you believe?
The evangelical church is rapidly sliding
toward idolatry as it turns away from
the Bible, and to visual imagery. A goal
of one “Bible Society” is
to put the entire Bible on video, to accommodate
those people who have little desire to
read God’s Word. The Jesus Film
(a representation of Luke’s Gospel),
is one of the evangelical’s efforts.
The Passion of Christ is another attempt
of so-called Christians. There shall be
many more in the future. BEWARE! I, personally, am completely against this.
Any film I have ever seen, does NOT agree
with the Bible. How Mel Gibson
could possibly have the gall to impersonate
(portray, pretend to be) the Lord Jesus
Christ is beyond me! May God
have mercy on his soul. (My humble opinion.)
Any film/video cannot possibly be used
to present the Bible visually without
becoming idolatrous. The images are not
only historically false but they are dreamed
up by the screenwriter or director and
are designed to manipulate the senses
and emotions of those watching. Movements
within the evangelical church are turning
the next generation away from the Truth
of the Bible and TO an idolatry of experimentalism. BEWARE! Stay deep within
the Word of God.
Worship
Him in Spirit and Truth.
