God CANNOT lie!
God considers false doctrines to be "damnable". Damnable = perdition,
pernicious. Actually, heresies are an abomination to Almighty God! Abomination = a detestation, idolatry. God HATES False doctrines and false teachers and false prophets who spout them shall be punished! Psalm 7:11; 78:58; Pro.19:27-28; Isa.1:4; 32:6; Jer.7:18; 23:16,32, 25:7; Mat.15:9; Mark 8:15; Acts 20:30; 2 Cor.11:4,13; Gal.5:9; Eph.5:6; Col.2:8; Tit.2:8; Heb.13:9; 2 John 1:10; Rev.2:14; 18:3,6; 20:15.

United Pentecostal Churches Exposed
The UPCI . . . United Pentecostal Church International teaches the Oneness heresy.
Some in the following article is taken from Mead's Handbook of Denominations (11ed.) and from a book titled Jesus Only Churches, one in a series of Zondervan's, Guide to Cults and Religious Movements.
UPCI Churches are known as "Jesus Only" Churches because they reject the Godhead (Trinity). They also believe you must be baptized in water and speak in tongues or you are NOT saved. They go along with the 'Holiness' standards of dress and appearance and recreational activities as do other 'Holiness' Churches. There are about 600,000 in the USA and about 3 million worldwide. Some Pentecostals are known as "Oneness" or "Jesus Only" Pentecostals because they do not believe in the Trinity, and believed water baptism was necessary to get one's sins remitted, and the formula for being baptized was in Jesus' name only; NOT in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as the Bible instructs (Mat.28:19). UPCI also believe that speaking in tongues is evidence of one being baptized by the Holy Spirit, and IF a person CANNOT speak in tongues, they are NOT saved! This is NOT Biblical! NO where in Scripture does it say that we must speak in other tongues and NO where does Jesus tell us that we must speak in other tongues or we are not saved! NO where!!! BEWARE my friend. . . . See our article on Chrismatics.
UPCI are WRONG when they reject the Godhead, and deem it necessary to speak in tongues and be baptized into their church to be saved.
"New Birth is achieved by faith, repentance, water baptism, and baptism in the Holy Spirit" (which is evidenced by speaking in tongues); 'Jesus Only' Churches, p51, E. Calvin Beisner.
The doctrinal views of UPCI reflect most of the beliefs of the Holiness-Pentecostals. Their doctrine embraces the demonic Pentecostal view that speaking in tongues is the initial sign of receiving the Holy Spirit. If this were true . . . WHY didn't the Apostle John mention speaking in tongues in ANY of his writings? The reason John wrote First John is: 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (KJV)
IF baptism AND speaking in tongues are necessary for salvation, WHY didn't John mention either of these? His letter was written so that we could KNOW we have eternal life? Simple common sense!
United Pentecostal Churches and Water Baptism
UPCI Churches teach that water baptism is necessary to get to Heaven. This differs in teaching from other Pentecostal/Holiness Churches. Their mode of baptism must be by immersion and the "formula" (as they call it) must be "in Jesus' Name" only; NOT "in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" of Matthew 28:19. They also try to use 1 Peter 3:21 to authorize baptism for salvation. 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: (KJV) . . . Lutherans pervert the Gospel by using this same Scripture.
My comment on 1 Peter 3:21. As Noah was saved through water, so is the Christian: "Baptism now saves you." How does baptism save a person? The correct answer is "by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." Baptism is being united with Christ, and thus united with Christ, we are carried with Him to resurrection life. Paul also uses baptism as the point of union with Christ (Rom.6:4-11; Col.2:12). The Truth is that, as in 1 Peter 1:3, it is our being joined to . . . united with Jesus that saves us. Without Jesus and His resurrection, baptism would be utterly useless.
I believe that Christian baptism means being immersed in water (Rom.6:4-11; Col.2:12). The point is, that the outward washing is NOT what is important! That outward washing is simply "the removal of dirt from the body." There HAS to be more! Without something more we would go into the water a dirty sinner and come out a clean sinner. The water has absolutely NO magic properties, and NEITHER does the ritual! If it did, baptism would be like circumcision was for the Jew, and Christians would indeed be saved by works (ritual acts).
SO . . . What does save in the baptismal experience? Acts 8:36-37 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (KJV) . . . A commitment to God the Father and faith in Christ is what saves! . . . . IF it is sincere! A hypocritical response will have absolutely NO effect whatsoever in the salvation of your soul . . . while an honest pledge of commitment WILL result in salvation, for it joins the person to the resurrection of Christ.
But, you say, "What about people who are never baptized and yet make a commitment to Christ?" The idea that a person would confess Christ and yet would NOT be baptized would be absurd to Peter. I agree. If a person is able, they WANT to be united with Christ! BUT, there are people on their death-beds, or some who are physically handicapped . . . I think that there are exceptions, like the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43). Christians are saved through their being joined to Christ and His resurrection. It is NOT the ritual itself OR the water that saves, but the commitment that one makes to Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Baptism in Christianity, is just like a marriage ceremony. It is simply the way of entering into that relationship.
United Pentecostal Churches and the Trinity
UPCI rejects the doctrine of the Godhead (the Trinity), and believe that 'Jesus Only' is God, NOT the Holy Spirit and NOT the Father. This is why UPCI are categorized as a cult in many religious manuals, such as Zondervan's GUIDE TO CULTS series. The Word of God teaches the Godhead (Acts 17:29; Rom.1:20; Col.2:9). The Wonderful Truth of the Trinity CANNOT be rejected if eternal life in Heaven is your goal. NO! The word "Trinity" is not be in the KJV of the Bible; but the word Godhead is and so is its awesome doctrine (Mat.3:16-17).
Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:(KJV) Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (KJV) Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. (KJV)
How can ANYONE deny the Godhead when they read the above verses? It is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to deny the Godhead with such an abundance of Scriptural support! There is only ONE God (Deut. 6:4); but He has revealed Himself to us in THREE individual Persons. It may not make earthly sense; but it is the solid and TRUE teaching from the Word of God.
United Pentecostal Churches and Salvation
UPCI believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation in order to get one's sins forgiven, and that one must speak in tongues in order to be saved . . . which they claim is evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. "New Birth is achieved by faith, repentance, water baptism, and baptism in the Holy Spirit" (which is evidenced by speaking in tongues)- SOURCE: 'Jesus Only' Churches, p51, E. Calvin Beisner.
UPCI churches believe in order to remain saved, one must continue to live a a life of faithfulness and holiness and continue to 'believe' in Christ. This is self-righteousness. If I couldn't do good works to BE saved, HOW can I do bad works to lose it? I can't. Salvation is of God. Jonah 2:9-c . . . . Salvation is of the LORD. (KJV)
I study false teachers and their heresies and I am amazed at the stupid and destructive heresies that so many professing "Christians" believe in and trust their eternal soul to. But, these are NOT really "Christians" at all . . . they are hypocrites, imposters in the Body of Christ. They are the devil's children (1 John 3:10). Mankind has always had to add some kind of self-righteousness to the finished work of Christ (John 19:30)! WHY is it so hard for people to leave God's salvation plan alone? NO one can save himself!
UPCI are WRONG to deny the Godhead (trinity), and to require baptism and speaking in tongues for salvation. These are WORKS added to God's salvation plan. Jesus paid it all. ALL to Him we owe! Every person who follows the teachings of UPCI will face the wrath of Almighty God (Rom.1:18; 2:5; Col.3:6) and be cast into the lake of fire (Rev.20:15) . . . because their names are NOT written in the book of life.
UPCI Churches and Eternal Security
UPCI believe and teach that salvation can be lost. The UPCI, and other Pentecostal and Holiness churches believe that IF a born-again believer STOPS believing and turns his back on Christ, they lose their salvation. That is NOT what the Bible teaches and God CANNOT lie!
What does God have to say? John 3:15-16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV) . . . Jesus' words. . . . ETERNAL life! EVERLASTING life! Eternal = perpetual, for ever. Everlasting = forevermore, continued duration, non-stop.
The above Passage is a PROMISE from a God who CANNOT lie! Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (KJV)
Once a person truly believes in the finished work of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus, they become a child of God (John 1:12-13), they are born again into the family of God (John 3:3-8) and NO one can pluck them out of the Father's hand (John 10:28-29). And once God the Holy Spirit baptizes a person (1 Cor.12:13) and the Holy Spirit resides in that person (Rom.8:9) for ever (John 14:16), they have ETERNAL life! It CANNOT be taken away! God will NOT grant His Spirit to anyone who is NOT sincere in their commitment to Christ! God KNOWS if a person is sincere or not! (Eze.11:5).
We ALL will fail and we ALL will sometimes sin, BUT . . . the heart of the TRUE believer always regrets, repents, begs forgiveness, and strives never to sin that way again. King David sinned many times, what we would call "bad" sins, BUT he did NOT lose his salvation. He lost his joy of his salvation and was punished by the Lord, BUT . . . he did NOT lose salvation. As far as assurance of salvation is concerned for the UPCI, NO one can know for sure he is going to make it to Heaven until he is actually there, for they teach it is possible for a person to 'lose' salvation after he has been born-again IF that person continues in an unrepentant backslidden state. There is NO such teaching in the Bible.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. (KJV) . . . This is the Judgment Seat of Christ. There will be many Christians in Heaven who will have just barely escaped the fires of Hell, and will have absolutely no rewards!
