Judgments on Egypt and the Pharaoh
Background. Moses was sent by the Lord to Pharaoh to ask him to let the Israelite slaves go. It took 10 horrible plagues before Pharaoh would free them.
Exodus 7:1-7 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them. And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they. And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh. And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. [KJV] . . . The mission of Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh was ordered by God . . . Moses would be as a god to Pharaoh and Aaron would be a prophet to Moses. God said that He would harden Pharaoh's heart, so that He might multiply His signs and wonders, that the people might know that He alone was the true God. Moses was 80 and Aaron 83 when this occurred. God gives them directions how they should act in Pharaoh's presence.
Exodus 7:10-13 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. [KJV] . . . The first comment I would like to make here is: Moses and Aaron did as the Lord had commanded! This is SO important for us to see! When God tells us to do something . . . or NOT to do something . . . we must OBEY Him!
Aaron throws his rod down and it becomes a snake. "Not so great" says Pharaoh and he calls in his sorcerers. They all throw down their rods . . . they become snakes too. BUT . . . God is stronger than Satan! Aaron's snake swallowed up all their snakes. Witchcraft in ANY form is an abomination to God (Lev.19:31; 20:6; Deut.18:10; Isa.47:11-13). When the magicians imitate this miracle, Pharaoh's heart is hardened . . . just as God had spoken! God CANNOT lie!
Warning from God via Moses
Exodus 7:14-25 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go. Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand. And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear. Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood. And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said. And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also. And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river. And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river. [KJV]
This is the first of the 10 plagues . . . turning fresh water into blood. Can you imagine seeing rolling streams of blood? "How could God have been so angry, so hateful?" you might say. When sin keeps stacking up, it will one day reach the top of the bucket! God is extremely merciful, patient and kind . . . BUT . . . He has His limits! He is so pure and holy, He CANNOT tolerate evil or sin in any way. He keeps warning people, like He has been doing recently with natural disasters, but NO one seems to be listening! Those disasters are GOD speaking to you! It is NOT Mother Nature! It is GOD doing it!
God CANNOT lie! He warns people in various ways all the time. He NEVER brings judgment down on a person or a nation without first giving a warning to repent and turn back to Him. But people are so preoccupied with themselves, they just don't listen! Wake up people! Wake up world! Wake up AMERICA! GOD IS GOOD! God loves you! Do NOT turn away from Him!
I honestly don't know what people think of God. Most homes have a Bible, but how many people take time to see what God states? Many places the people who live there don't even know where the Bible is, or it is so covered with dust it does NO good to anyone.
God hides NOTHING from those who read His Words! He tells it like it is. Below are the 10 plagues that God brought on Pharaoh (Egypt). God warned Pharaoh. Pharaoh would NOT listen, so God brought about the plagues that He promised!
Some times God has to wake up people. He did many times in the Old Testament, and He shall do so in the future. God always warns, some times more than once because of His mercy and love, but unless the people (or person) repents, He shall bring judgment!
Exodus 9:14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. [KJV] . . . Moses delivers a horrible message to Pharaoh. Pharaoh was a man with a fierce and stubborn spirit. God will humble and bring down the proudest of His enemies. Because Pharaoh did not yield, the judgments of God would flow from Him to all Egypt.
Fulfillment in the Ten Plagues.

God ALWAYS keeps His Word. He does NOT lie!
